General Definition of Work:
Performs intermediate administrative support work administering basic vision screening tests to children from preschool to high school and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned personnel.
Starting at $17.22/hr
Essential Functions:
• Administers basic vision screening tests to children from preschool to high school to identify those with deficiencies.
• Prepares screening forms, classroom forms and other required paperwork for Hearing and Vision Program Coordinator, parent of tested child, and school system.
• Completes follow-up on all medical referrals including posting doctor's reports, phone calls, or remailing original paperwork. May involve locating parents or guardian.
• Schedules vision screening dates with school personnel.
• Drives to various testing locations, carries equipment and supplies, sets up room for testing, sets up and tests equipment, and coordinates with staff to gather children for testing.
• Works in office filing, making up packets, and doing paperwork. Verifies insurance as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Special Requirements:
Obtain State of Michigan Certification in Vision Screening upon hire.
Valid driver's license in the State of Michigan.
