Job Description
The VAA Lead will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of Value-Added Assembly (VAA) programs. This role combines manufacturing engineering expertise with program management responsibilities, focusing on equipment and tooling planning, supplier selection, cost estimating, plant transitions, and production launch strategy. The ideal candidate understands how manufacturing programs move from concept through implementation and can coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.

Skills and Requirements
-7-10+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer background with program management responsibilities in the automotive industry
-Experience with JIT (Just-In-Time) assembly, sequencing, or VAA operations
-Experience planning manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production launches
-Strong project/program management experience managing timelines and key deliverables
-Experience working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Suppliers, and Engineering teams
-Understanding of manufacturing capital investments and cost estimating
-Experience creating equipment/tooling quotes, budgets, and investment calculations
-Knowledge of supplier selection and sourcing processes
-Experience supporting plant launches, expansions, relocations, or major manufacturing transitions Previous experience as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, Program Manufacturing Engineer, or PMO-focused Program Manager
