Battery Reliability Engineer
We are seeking a Battery Reliability Engineer to support automotive battery cell manufacturing, testing cell performance and reliability of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis electrified vehicles.
We are an engineering group at HATCI that focuses on battery development for vehicle production and future mobility. As an overseas technical center for a Korean company, we specialize in North American development opportunities, and support local manufacturing.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Designing and executing battery performance tests on vehicles, battery systems, and cells
Comparing product features against competitor products and industry standards
Communicating directions and needs, including ownership of presentations, reports, and meetings
Collaborating with many groups - local manufacturing sites, technology and material vendors, Korean counterparts, internal business and engineering teams
Up to 15% travel (domestic and international)
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Basic:
Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering or related field
Electrified vehicle experience, including vehicle-level data collection and analysis
Numerical analysis and data-driven decision making
Comprehension of vehicle electrification technology and high voltage battery systems
Preferred:
Master of Science degree in related field
Battery system testing, failure analysis
Launching mass production automotive battery cells or systems
Quality issue analysis and management processes
Collaborating with major automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
Big data analytics
Production validation, production part approval processes, and quality control
Battery reliability/safety test and system improvement activities
Industrial process controls, process capability assessments
