Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and dial machines to produce high-quality parts according to blueprints and specifications.
- Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify programs for accuracy before production runs.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, assembly lines and other manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance; troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and technical drawings to confirm proper machining processes.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other tools to inspect parts during and after production for quality control.
- Operate forklifts and materials handling equipment safely to move raw materials or finished products within the factory environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of machine setups, maintenance activities, and production logs in compliance with safety standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming and CAM programming software to develop efficient machining processes.
- Experience with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems for machine operation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment including press brake machines, fabrication tools, welding techniques, and tooling setups.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with GD&T principles.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes within manufacturing facilities.
- Skilled in using hand tools, precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Factory experience in a manufacturing environment involving machining, fabrication, assembly line operations, or packaging is highly desirable.
