Driver / Grinder

Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour
Company Average Pay: Approximately $28.00 per hour

Sterling Metal Works is looking for a dependable Driver/Grinder to help finish high-quality metal castings and make local truck deliveries. This position combines hands-on production work with partial-day driving responsibilities.

We are a small, employee-centered company with a high-energy, growth-focused atmosphere. Our employees take pride in making incredible metal parts from scratch. We offer paid training in a skilled trade and a family-oriented work culture where attention to detail and teamwork matter.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

• Some Saturdays, 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Use handheld and stationary power tools to grind and finish metal castings

• Inspect finished work for quality and completeness

• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload parts

• Make local deliveries and pickups using a company truck

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Work independently while supporting the production team

• Perform other shop and material-handling duties as needed

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

• Reliable transportation to and from work

• Dependable attendance and punctuality

• Ability to work safely with power tools and industrial equipment

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to demonstrate initiative and work with limited supervision

• Ability to work well with others in a team environment

• Willingness to work in an environment that can be loud, dirty, hot, and smoky

• Respirator use is required on the production floor; facial hair must be trimmed or near clean-shaven to allow a proper respirator seal
