Driver / Grinder
Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour
Company Average Pay: Approximately $28.00 per hour

Sterling Metal Works is looking for a dependable Driver/Grinder to help finish high-quality metal castings and make local truck deliveries. This position combines hands-on production work with partial-day driving responsibilities.
We are a small, employee-centered company with a high-energy, growth-focused atmosphere. Our employees take pride in making incredible metal parts from scratch. We offer paid training in a skilled trade and a family-oriented work culture where attention to detail and teamwork matter.
Schedule

Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Some Saturdays, 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.
Responsibilities

Use handheld and stationary power tools to grind and finish metal castings

Inspect finished work for quality and completeness

Safely load, secure, transport, and unload parts

Make local deliveries and pickups using a company truck

Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Work independently while supporting the production team

Perform other shop and material-handling duties as needed
Requirements

Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

Reliable transportation to and from work

Dependable attendance and punctuality

Ability to work safely with power tools and industrial equipment

Strong attention to detail

Ability to demonstrate initiative and work with limited supervision

Ability to work well with others in a team environment

Willingness to work in an environment that can be loud, dirty, hot, and smoky

Respirator use is required on the production floor; facial hair must be trimmed or near clean-shaven to allow a proper respirator seal
