General areas of work and key responsibilities as listed below. We will provide on-the-job training on all of these topics to ensure you are confident and comfortable performing these duties.
- Safely operating heat treating furnaces, temper furnaces, and washer, including operation of the charge car
- Testing parts for hardness using Rockwell hardness tester or portable hardness tester
- Use of cut-off saw to section parts when required
- Flame hardening
- Painting parts with carb stop paint (when requested by customer)
- Loading and unloading parts to / from customer containers to baskets or racks.
- Signing off (paper copy and computerized copy) of any work being done.
- Performing routine cleaning on and around processing equipment as needed or per a prescribed maintenance schedule.
- Notifying management of any maintenance or quality issues.
