CE Driveline Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Position Summary
The Circular Economy Engineer manages the launch of remanufactured driveline assembly service parts, including transmissions, transfer cases, PTUs, drive shafts, and half shafts. This role is responsible for identifying, tracking, and approving testing and validation activities, while ensuring engineering documents are created and released for compliance, traceability, and future reference. The engineer works cross-functionally to move parts through the release process and ensure timely placement on shelf.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the release of remanufactured driveline service parts from engineering through downstream functions to support timely launch
- Review design, specifications, and materials of past-model parts to implement changes without affecting original design intent
- Create and manage engineering change notices for service part releases and changes
- Track released parts through purchasing, inventory control, and related departments
- Identify validation requirements for service part changes, monitor testing progress, and approve results
- Review and approve supplier engineering documentation from PPAP submissions, including DVPR and DFMEA
- Manage supplier part deviation requests and supplier resourcing engineering activities
- Create design work requests to release models and drawings for service parts
- Partner with material engineering to evaluate and approve material deviation requests
- Recommend and implement technical cost-saving and warranty cost-reduction initiatives
- Modify service procedures to improve labor efficiency and reduce warranty costs
- Develop long-term storage solutions for all-time buy parts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of engineering experience
- Strong driveline engineering experience
- Experience with design and release engineering, process engineering, or functional test engineering
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across 6–9 month implementation cycles
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Experience with Teamcenter
- Understanding of PPAP/APQP metrics
- Aeronautical Engineering background may be considered
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel to U.S. supplier sites approximately 6 times per year
