Job Details

The GSRP lead teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a developmentally appropriate, active learning classroom environment for four-year-old children. This role requires a BA degree in Early Childhood or Child Development and at least two years of experience in an active learning curriculum (HighScope preferred). The lead teacher ensures compliance with all GSRP requirements, supports family engagement, and fosters a warm, inclusive learning community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement daily lessons using active learning strategies; High scope experience strongly preferred.
• Conduct daily small group, large group, and individualized learning experiences.
• Maintain a well-organized, intentional classroom environment aligned with HighScope and GSRP standards.
• Complete ongoing child assessments using COR Advantage (or other approved tools)
• Use data to inform instruction and support individualized learning plans

Development In Classroom Management

• Build nurturing, responsive relationships with children
• Support social emotional development using positive guidance practices
• Ensure a safe, healthy, and inclusive classroom environment
• monitor developmental progress and communicate regularly with families

Compliance On Documentation

• Maintain accurate attendance, lesson plans, anecdotal notes, and assessment records
• Ensure full compliance with capital GSRP, capital MDE, licensing, and center policies
• Participate in required professional development, coaching, and class observations
• Collaborate with teaching team, support staff and program leadership
