Position Summary: Lead the company’s Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Process Support activities to meet the strategic goals and operational needs of the company.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with studies in business and management systems.
- Management - leadership experience.
- Demonstrated team or group communications and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated quality systems knowledge and auditor training/experience.
- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Demonstrated written documentation ability.
- College level courses on injection molding processing, tooling, & plastic testing methods
- ISO 9001 / TS / IATF 16949 training and leadership experience
- ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence
- ASQ or RABQSA Certified Quality Management System Auditor
- Training and experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
- Training and experience in AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, & SPC)
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety, training, and administrative requirements
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems and Department of Environmental Quality requirements
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
- Determine and prioritize departmental resource requirements, assess options, and take action within scope of authority to effectively and efficiently fulfill requirements.
- Lead, guide, and assess the work performance of assigned personnel.
- Assess training needs and qualifications of departmental personnel. Conduct or coordinate training activities to fulfill training needs and develop personnel.
- Maintain and develop the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to meet ISO 9001 and TS / IATF 16949 requirements.
- Act as the company’s QMS Management Representative by facilitating, motivating, and promoting the deployment of QMS requirements throughout the organization.
- Coordinate registrar surveillance visits and follow-ups.
- Monitor compliance with the QMS and quality plans.
- Routinely assess and report on the status of the overall QMS / Develop and implement Internal QMS audit plan.
- Support Manufacturing in the effective implementation of quality plans.
- Provide timely performance appraisals and consistent performance management to direct reports, and provide performance feedback to other co-workers in an effort to increase performance awareness across the company.
- Train company personnel on the quality disciplines, statistical process control and statistical analysis.
- Assist with the design and proper implementation of statistical studies.
- Implement and maintain effective corrective/preventive action and continual improvement programs.
- Develop and maintain quality measures, including cost of quality.

Mechanicals: (equipment operation or physical dexterity required for the position) - Keyboard, fax, copy machine, telephone, and calculator.
Work Environment: Industrial office environment, air conditioned with light noise, and regular factory floor exposure.
