Job Summary
The Material Handlersupports the inspection, movement, staging, and handling of warranty return products in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and quality standards. This role is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, maintaining accurate material and product status records, and supporting inspection and quality activities. The Material Handler works closely with inspection, quality, and operations teams to maintain efficient material flow, product traceability, and compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to safely move, stage, load, and unload warranty return products.
Receive, transport, and position materials in designated inspection, quarantine, and storage areas.
Support inspection activities by presenting products for inspection and assisting with visual checks.
Perform visual inspections to identify obvious non-conformities and assist with documenting findings.
Accurately record material movements, inspection support activities, and product status in computer-based systems.
Assist with the identification, segregation, labeling, and disposition of non-conforming materials and products.
Collaborate with inspection, quality, and operations teams to support workflow efficiency and quality objectives.
Participate in audits and continuous improvement activities by providing input regarding material handling, product condition, and process performance.
Maintain organized work areas to support FIFO, traceability, and safe material flow.
Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including forklift safety requirements.
Maintain awareness of surrounding activities and safely operate material handling equipment in warehouse and inspection areas.
Job Requirements
Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Ability to operate a computer for data entry, documentation, and following work instructions.
Commitment to safety, quality, and procedural compliance.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and material handling activities.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to routinely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks for extended periods.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and situational awareness.
Work Experience
1-3 years of experience in material handling, quality inspection support, warehouse, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
