Job Summary
The Material Handler - Warranty Returns is responsible for safely receiving, transporting, staging, and supporting the inspection of warranty return products in a manufacturing environment. This role operates propane-powered sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure efficient movement of materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting quality processes. The ideal candidate has previous forklift experience, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to accurately update inventory records in Microsoft Excel.
Job Responsibilities
Operate propane-powered sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks to safely move, load, unload, and stage warranty return materials.
Receive, transport, and position materials in designated inspection, quarantine, and storage areas.
Support quality inspection activities by presenting materials for inspection and performing basic visual checks for obvious defects or nonconforming conditions.
Accurately record material movements, inspection activities, and product status in company systems and Microsoft Excel.
Assist with identifying, labeling, segregating, and documenting nonconforming materials.
Maintain accurate inventory records and update Excel spreadsheets to track material movement and product status.
Collaborate with quality, inspection, warehouse, and operations teams to support efficient workflow.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support inventory accuracy.
Maintain organized work areas while following FIFO and material traceability practices.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures while operating material handling equipment.
Perform additional warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
1-3 years of experience in material handling, warehouse, manufacturing, quality support, or a related environment preferred.
Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift required; experience with propane-powered forklifts preferred.
Ability to operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
Basic computer and data entry skills.
Experience updating and maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing throughout the shift.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
