Summary:
Meta is looking for an Associate General Counsel, Product (Payments) who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact on people's lives. You will help drive high-profile cross-functional initiatives across the business involving a variety of complex legal and regulatory issues, relating to managing risk for financial and payment products. This role will require demonstrated business acumen and significant cross-functional collaboration with product, partnerships, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams, as well as other legal and compliance subject-matter experts, as you help shape the future of payment products. We are looking for someone with analytical and communication skills, who is diligent, proactive, collaborative, and who has demonstrated legal and business judgment and strategic thinking and the ability to work independently.

Associate General Counsel, Products (Payments) Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice on payment laws, financial services regulations, data privacy, consumer protection, and enforcement actions for existing products and new features
Develop strategic, long-term approaches to launching payment products and programs globally
Assess legal risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and provide legal advice to product, engineering, risk, and compliance teams
Monitor and conduct analyses of new regulations in the payments/financial services space to assess their applicability to the payments/financial products
Support cross-functional efforts to engage with regulators and public policymakers for key financial regulatory areas
Minimum Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in practicing privacy law, with a focus on data protection requirements applicable to payments, financial services, or consumer financial data
J.D. Degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
Active bar membership in good standing in at least one jurisdiction

Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

$202,000/year to $274,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
