Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an experienced Electronics Manufacturing Technician for one of our Avionics Manufacturing customers in Grand Rapids, MI. The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of manufacturing operations associated with the production, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and rework of electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and finished products. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to support production objectives, improve processes, and ensure product quality and compliance with applicable standards
This is a highly independent, hands-on position focused on advanced troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electronic components-requiring strong critical thinking and the ability to work through complex, non-routine issues.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment and avionics components
Perform functional testing to validate repairs and ensure quality standards
Utilize electronic test equipment (e.g., signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers)
Execute soldering and desoldering of electronic components with precision
Interpret and apply blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Document repair processes accurately and maintain compliance with internal procedures
Apply structured troubleshooting methodologies (e.g., first known good / last known bad)
Collaborate with engineering on complex or unidentified issues as needed
Team Structure: Small second-shift team; high level of autonomy expected
Overtime: Available and encouraged due to sustained workload

Skills and Requirements
High School Diploma
8+ years of related manufacturing focused on electronics repair, testing, or technical production.
OR an Associate Degree, Technical Certification, or equivalent post-secondary education in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Technology, Aviation Electronics, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Military background relevant to electronics
Experience in aerospace, avionics, electronics manufacturing, or regulated industries.
Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies and systems.
Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
IPC certification or equivalent technical certifications.
