Responsibilities
•Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted.•
• Plans the setup and operation of all type of machine shop tools, considering type of materials, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds.
•Welds tools and parts as required. Tig weld (Heliarc) and benching in cavities.•
•Determines specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining.
•Performs hand operations involved in producing, tools and molds. Uses hand tools of the trade.•
•Fits and assembles tools and molds. Sets up and test molds to produce a product to specifications, tracing mold difficulties to their source and correcting it.
•May work with product designers providing input to manufacturing capability on newly molded products.•
•Must have (or willing to learn and gain required experience) hot runner, hydraulic and pneumatic experience.•
• Extensive plastic injection mold experience (willing to learn and gain required experience)

Education:
Journeyman level Tool and Die (must provide documentation) OR
Commit to 4 year apprenticeship is required with classes (8000 on the job hours, 612 classroom hours)
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
•Requires a very high degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where muscular control and delicate touch are required.
•High degree of attention and care required preventing injury to self and others when operating machine tools.
•Self motivated, works unsupervised.
• Multitask or able to work on multiple jobs.
•Work within a team environment to resolve production issue or tool failures in our production facilities.
