Ingram Roofing is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Service & Repair Technician to join our Southeast Michigan team.
This is primarily a service and repair position. We are looking for someone with hands-on roofing experience who can investigate roofing problems, identify the source of leaks or water intrusion, determine the appropriate repair, and complete quality work.
The ideal candidate is a dependable, experienced roofer who is comfortable working independently in the field and takes pride in solving roofing problems correctly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Respond to commercial roofing service and repair calls
• Inspect roofs and troubleshoot leaks and water intrusion
• Identify the source of roofing problems rather than only treating visible symptoms
• Determine appropriate repair methods
• Perform commercial roof repairs and preventative maintenance
• Repair seams, flashing, penetrations, curbs, drains, transitions, and other common problem areas
• Perform caulking, sealing, patching, and waterproofing repairs
• Complete smaller service and repair jobs independently or as part of a team
• Evaluate existing roof conditions and identify areas requiring attention
• Document roof conditions, repairs performed, and work completed
• Communicate professionally with customers, property representatives, and coworkers
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow company procedures and safe roofing practices
PREFERRED ROOFING EXPERIENCE
Commercial roofing experience is preferred. Experience with any of the following is a plus:
• EPDM roofing systems
• TPO roofing systems
• Asphalt roofing
• Low-slope commercial roofing
• Roof coating systems
• Torch-down roofing
• Leak detection and troubleshooting
• Flashing and sheet-metal details
• Caulking and sealants
• Roof penetrations and curbs
• Roof drains and drainage-related issues
• Roof maintenance and preventative repairs
• General waterproofing
Candidates do not need to be experts in every roofing system listed above.
No specific roofing certification is required.
We are more interested in practical roofing experience, mechanical ability, troubleshooting skills, quality workmanship, and the ability to solve roofing problems in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous roofing, commercial roofing, service/repair, or related construction experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Ability to investigate roof leaks and determine likely sources of water intrusion
• Ability to perform quality repairs rather than temporary fixes
• Ability to work independently when necessary
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Dependable and reliable
• Strong attention to detail
• Professional when interacting with customers and property representatives
• Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and elevated surfaces
• Able to perform the physical requirements associated with roofing service and repair
• Able to work outdoors in varying Michigan weather conditions
• Valid driver's license required
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• $25.00–$35.00 per hour based on experience and demonstrated ability

The higher end of the pay range is intended for technicians who can independently diagnose roofing problems, determine appropriate repairs, communicate professionally, and complete quality service work.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for more than someone who has simply worked on a roofing crew.
A strong candidate understands that finding a roof leak often requires investigation and problem solving. The location where water appears inside a building is not always the location where it entered the roofing system.
We want someone who will investigate the problem, evaluate the roofing system, identify the likely source, determine the proper repair, complete the work correctly, and clearly communicate what was found.
