Design, develop, and test mechanical and thermal systems used in biomass gasification and carbon conversion processes. Design and assemble high-pressure solids feed and mechanical handling systems. Conduct high temperature and high-pressure system testing; collect and analyze performance data to improve reliability and efficiency. Prepare engineering documentation including technical specifications, test procedures, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Develop 3D mechanical models and fabrication drawings; perform mechanical, structural, and thermal analyses. Troubleshoot mechanical and thermal system performance issues and implement design improvements. Manage bills of materials and coordinate with fabrication, operations, and supply chain teams. Support safe operation of laboratory and pilot-scale mechanical equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 24 months of prior work experience in job offered, research engineer, research scientist, research assistant or closely related, and work experience must include the design of thermal-fluid systems, combustion systems, and/or high temperature /high-pressure process equipment, for purposes of mechanical/chemical recyclying.
