Pukall Lumber Company is seeking a Warehouse Customer Service Associate in Arbor Vitae.
Full-time shift Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., to include rotating Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Warehouse Customer Service Associate will be responsible for customer service, filling customer orders, and maintaining inventory. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position and is required to effectively perform the job’s duties and responsibilities. - Fulfill customer orders from stock by selecting appropriate items from the retail building material warehouses or other yard locations based on the order item lists prepared by the retail sales personnel.
- Load materials into customer vehicle or assemble orders for pick-up or delivery.
- Maintain warehouse inventory by conveying materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Operate lift trucks or other conveying equipment to move materials.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Open bales, crates, boxes and other containers as needed for supplies.
- Perform daily lift truck preventative maintenance.
- Note any additional items or changes on the order form; discuss issues with the customer or salesperson and substitute items if appropriate.
- Marks materials with identifying information; maintain inventory records; record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Keep the warehouse and surrounding area clean and neat. Assist with snow removal and yard maintenance as needed.
- If needed, use point-of-sale system for customer sales; apply knowledge of Company SKU codes and pricing; accept customer payment by cash, credit card, or internal credit; obtain customer information for site delivery; maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Restock by moving materials and supplies from receiving area to display area; replace returned items in appropriate location.
- Mark prices on merchandise or price stickers according to pricing guides; count stock.
- Straighten and clean materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in sales areas.
- If needed, drive a vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to customer locations or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three to six months’ related experience and/or training in building materials required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills and capable of navigating order processing systems required.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Prior forklift operation experience highly preferred.

The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor environmental conditions and occasionally exposed to indoor environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to wear OSHA-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety-toed footwear, safety vest, and hard hats, as required.
