Pukall Lumber Company is seeking an Inside Sales Associate in Arbor Vitae.
Full-time shift Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to include rotating Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Inside Sales Associate will sell products, assist customers, and stock merchandise in the building materials and supplies department of the retail store. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position and is required to effectively perform the job’s duties and responsibilities. - Answer questions and advise customers on selection of building materials and supplies. Cross-sell add-on products.
- Use point-of-sale system for customer sales; apply knowledge of Company SKU codes and pricing; accept customer payment by cash, credit card, or internal credit; obtain customer information for site delivery; maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Assist customer to carry items to vehicle, if needed; arrange to have Warehouse Customer Service personnel load purchased materials.
- Prepare quotations of material costs upon customer request; follow up by phone to attempt to close sale.
- Prepare estimates based on customer design specifications.
- Restock by moving materials and supplies from receiving area to display area; replace returned items in appropriate location.
- Mark prices on merchandise or price stickers according to pricing guides; count stock.
- Straighten and clean materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in sales areas.
- Assist in the warehouse, including operating a forklift, and assist with customer deliveries (Minocqua and Manitowish Waters locations).
- Coordinate U-Haul rentals to include scheduling, minor maintenance and cleaning, as well as providing rental information to customers (Minocqua location).
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail and/or customer service experience required.
- Current and valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge and experience with inventory software, order processing systems, building materials and/or construction industry highly preferred.
- Previous experience with estimating desirable.
- Previous experience with forklift driving desirable.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The employee works in an environment where he/she is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, with some moderate noise when around warehouse mechanical equipment and vehicles.
