THE POSITION
Senior Staff Software Engineer, AUMOVIO Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI: Develop and maintain the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus communication/Diagnostics stack and application code for automotive applications. Write, test, and debug application-level code that interfaces with the CAN bus, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle systems. Integrate third-party software (Vector, Elektrobit) and tools into the CAN bus communication/Diagnostics stack, ensuring compatibility and performance. Translate customer requirements into internal requirements for analysis (reuse existing code, rewrite existing code or write new code). Have meaningful, in-depth conversations with the customers for requirements analysis, design decisions, and problem solving. Work closely with hardware engineers, system architects, and other software developers to ensure cohesive system design and functionality. Conduct thorough testing and validation of the CAN bus communication stack/Diagnostics and application code to ensure reliability and performance under various conditions. Create and maintain detailed documentation for the communication stack, application code, and integration processes.
Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per month.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post baccalaureate work experience.
Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Embedded software development including managing Infineon Aurix microcontrollers;
- Embedded C programming for automotive applications;
- Leading and guiding a team through ASPICE assessments for securing Level 3 compliance;
- Integrating and developing AUTOSAR stacks including DCM (Diagnostic Communications Manager), DEM (Diagnostic Event Manager), RTE (Real-Time Environment), COM
(Communication Service), NVM (Non-Volatile Memory), and SYS (System Services) stacks;
- Problem solving using tools including CANoe, emulators, debuggers, 8D/A3/5-Why techniques and tools;
- Agile methodology for delivering software for service diagnostics, flashing, CAN communication for vehicle buildup, integration and testing; and
- Working with distributed international development team and managing customer communications and negotiations.
Must have 3 years of experience in developing and integrating cybersecurity functionalities including secure communication, secure boot, secure flash and secure diagnostic communication within embedded systems.
