TITLE: Outreach Education Coordinator (Part-Time)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health Education, Public Health, or a related field.
Experience developing and teaching educational programs. Strong communication and
organizational skills and the ability to build a good rapport with participants. Reliable transportation
and valid driver’s license.
Preferred: Experience with public speaking, group facilitation, or program planning. Basic proficiency
in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
REPORTS TO: Director of Education and Outreach
SCHEDULE: Approximately 20 hours per week, primarily Monday-Friday between 10 a.m.
and 4 p.m. with flexibility based on program needs. Travel between our Activity and Dining Centers
is required (mileage reimbursed). Primarily in-person with occasional remote work.
COMPENSATION: $18-$21 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.
LOCATION: Senior Services' five Activity and Dining Centers. Office at the Main Building.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Outreach Education Coordinator develops and leads engaging
educational programs that promote health, independence, and connection for older adults. This
role helps expand programming at outlying Centers.
This is an ideal opportunity for a retired or semi-retired educator, health professional, or community
leader who enjoys working with older adults and wants to use their skills in a flexible, part-time role
that makes a tangible difference.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Program Development & Facilitation
a. Plan and facilitate educational programs at Activity & Dining Centers, with particular
attention to Centers outside the City of Midland.
b. Assist in leading evidence-based health programs (training provided).
c. Adapt to meet the learning styles of participants.
d. Occasional help with support group facilitation and fitness classes.
2. Community Health Clinic Support
a. Coordinate logistics for annual vaccine clinics, including scheduling and setup.
b. Supplemental communication with blood pressure volunteers.
3. Planning & Evaluation
a. Collaborate with the Director of Education and Outreach to maintain program calendar.
b. Coordinate speakers, materials, and basic program supplies.
c. Track attendance and collect participant evaluations.
4. Physical & Travel Requirements
a. Travel between Midland and outlying Centers (mileage reimbursed).
b. Ability to lift 25 pounds and assist with light program setup.
5. Other duties as assigned.
