Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled individual to join our Food & Nutrition team as a Cook/Cashier at Creekside Intermediate School. The ideal candidate will prepare and serve meals to students, provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, and support daily food service operations.
Days/Hours:
Monday–Friday, approximately 5 hours per day, or as determined by production and school schedule needs. Work schedule and number of hours are subject to change based on the needs of the Food & Nutrition Director. May include assignments at other program facilities as determined by service, production, and personnel needs.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $15.11 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Engage with students in an organized, thoughtful, and positive manner
- Address the needs of students and staff in a pleasant and timely fashion
- Prepare and serve meals according to school guidelines and dietary restrictions
- Follow National School Lunch and Breakfast Program regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Perform basic arithmetic, maintain accurate transaction records, and balance the cash drawer
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper food handling and storage
- Flexibility to work at other buildings as needed
- Successfully complete ServeSafe Certification within six months of hire, if required
- Complete required professional development and continuing education
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director or Kitchen Manager
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior food service experience preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, stovetops, and cash registers
- Ability to use a computer as an operational tool
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to follow school policies and procedures, including dress code and background check requirements
- Must have reliable transportation, as travel within the district may be required
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this position include bending, standing for extended periods, and repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds using a team lift approach. Food & Nutrition employees must be able to safely work around kitchen equipment, including cooking, steaming, and holding units, knives, and dishwashing equipment.
