Position Summary
Dow Credit Union is seeking a Relationship Specialist I who is passionate about helping people, building relationships, and creating exceptional member experiences. As a Universal Associate, this position supports a variety of branch functions while assisting members with their everyday financial needs.
The Relationship Specialist I combines outstanding customer service with financial services knowledge to help members achieve their financial goals while delivering a personalized experience during every interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Member Service
- Serve as a Universal Associate supporting a variety of branch operations.
- Build strong relationships with members through exceptional customer service.
- Identify member needs through meaningful conversations and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Create opportunities to deepen member relationships by providing personalized financial solutions.
- Direct branch traffic and help ensure a smooth and positive member experience.
Teller Operations
- Process teller transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Open and close member accounts.
- Complete account maintenance and servicing requests.
- Assist members with debit card services and other account-related support.
Sales & Relationship Development
- Achieve individual sales and service goals while maintaining a member-first approach.
- Recommend products and services that align with members' financial needs.
- Promote Dow Credit Union services through consultative conversations.
Branch Support & Compliance
- Support multiple branch locations as business needs require.
- Stay current on credit union policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Handle confidential member information with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain accuracy while completing a variety of operational and member service responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- One to two years of customer service or member service experience preferred.
- Previous banking, retail, cash handling, or financial services experience is a plus.

- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including Saturday rotations and occasional coverage at alternate branch locations.
