Position Summary
Dow Credit Union is seeking a Consumer Loan Officer who enjoys building relationships and helping members achieve their financial goals. This position is responsible for guiding members through the consumer lending process, identifying lending solutions that best fit their needs, making sound lending decisions, and providing exceptional member service throughout the lending experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Consumer Lending
- Assist members in identifying personal lending needs and present the best loan options.
- Accept loan applications through online and in-person channels.
- Evaluate applicants' creditworthiness and make sound credit decisions.
- Create loans within established lending authority while adhering to credit union lending policies.
- Counsel members regarding credit issues and available loan products.
- Maintain accurate loan documentation and effectively manage the loan pipeline.
Member Service & Relationship Building
- Deliver exceptional service while helping members achieve their financial goals.
- Build positive, long-term relationships with members.
- Actively cross-sell additional Dow Credit Union products and services that meet member needs.
Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure efficient loan processing.
- Coordinate with external business partners, including automobile dealers, insurance providers, Visa, and other lending-related partners.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Two to three years of consumer lending or related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of consumer loan processing, lending regulations, and member service.
- Ability to make confident and sound credit decisions.
- Ability to professionally handle confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
