Financial Health Counselor

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist and educate people on financial issues, including analyzing financial situations and recommending alternatives, teaching credit and money management skills, working with creditors and referring participants to other community resources. Planning, implementing, and evaluating current and new workshops as financial environment dictates. This position is located in Marinette, WI.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must hold a certificate of Certified Debt Management Professional (from Partnership for Financial Education) or be willing and able to earn this certificate within 2 months of hire.
- Must hold a certificate of HUD Certified Housing Counselor or be willing and able to earn this certificate within 3 months of hire.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
- Strong Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and report activities conducted.
- Ability to present oneself in a personable and professional manner.
- Ability to receive and utilize constructive criticism regarding performance, presentation, and relationships with others, able to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to support the mission of Catholic Charities in working with those who are poor and at the margins.
