JOB TITLE: KITCHEN AIDE
RATE OF PAY: $13.73 per hour entry, progressing to $15.54 per hour after 1 year (TS03)

*Part-time position, Variable hours up to 29 hours per week (subject to change).
This part-time position with limited benefits is included in the USW Part-time County unit, although membership in the union is voluntary.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Home Services Manager, completes regular maintenance/custodian duties at the central kitchen and other dining centers and cooking locations, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Sweeping, mopping and operating a floor scrubber in all assigned locations.
2. Cleaning of dining centers, bathrooms, refrigerators, walk-in coolers, freezers, shelves, cupboards, ovens, storage rooms as assigned. Must follow all guidelines for sanitation as outlined in the Michigan Public Health Code.
3. Sweeping and cleaning of outdoor entrances and parking lot. Cleaning of windows and doors as needed.
4. Taking out of all trash and boxes. Set up/take down of tables and chairs.
5. Assisting with special events and evening meals at various locations throughout Bay County.
6. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of Janitor’s room.
7. Make sure all areas are locked at end of work shift.
8. In times of a public health emergency, may be required to report for specialized assigned duties inside or outside of Bay County. Perform emergency response roles, as required.
9. Punctual and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
10. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work independently and without supervision. Must be able to maintain neat and orderly kitchen and center work areas. Must have reliable transportation. Must have ability to use floor cleaning equipment. Applicants may be required to take written and/or other examinations.
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodations): This position
requires sitting, walking, bending and/or standing for significant periods of time. Additional requirements include the ability to move objects according to the following weight & frequency: Generally, 50-100 pounds of force up to one-third of the time.
