Essential Skills
At least 3 years of experience in construction inspection or construction observation, or as a civil engineering technician.
Hands-on field experience with construction engineering or civil engineering projects.
Experience reviewing construction plans and documentation for infrastructure construction projects.
Knowledge of construction engineering principles and practices, including construction observation and inspection.
Familiarity with civil engineering construction for municipal and public utility projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited college.
Direct experience as a Construction Inspector or Observer, Construction Engineer, or Civil Engineering Technician, or in a closely related position.
Experience working on projects involving wastewater treatment plants or water systems infrastructure.
Experience in soil testing and interpretation of results for construction applications.
Job Description
The Construction Inspector / Civil Field Technician, also known as a Construction Services Specialist, oversees and reviews the construction process from the field to ensure that all work complies with approved engineering plans and specifications. This role focuses on infrastructure projects for municipalities and public utilities, including wastewater treatment plants, stormwater systems, drinking water treatment plants, pump stations, roadway utilities, and underground infrastructure related to water supply, water treatment, wellfields, and water distribution systems. The position offers the opportunity to build strong construction engineering skills in both field and office settings while working on local projects in Michigan.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $33.00/hr.
