Description Seeking JR Entry Level Tax Accountant in Ann Arbor MI. This role is FULLY ONSITE no exceptions. The select candidate will be responsible for tax return preparation, data analytics and process documentation surrounding direct and indirect tax compliance and audits as applicable on a global basis.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Preparing and submitting work papers, allocations, and tax returns (federal, state, and/or international) including income, property, sales & use, excise tax and other reporting obligations
Research and understand potential impact of tax legislation changes
Responsible for gathering and analyzing data requirements
Participate in streamlining and improving tax reporting processes
Support direct and indirect tax audit data compilation
Support customer tax setups and tax determination
Assist with cross-functional tax department projects and work closely with accounting contacts
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency with one or more accounting systems, including the ability to assimilate new software applications easily
Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary in order to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Ability to collaborate with team members
Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to provide exceptional customer service
Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate and resolve discrepancies
Proven analytical problem solver
Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in corporate accounting or a tax department; those close to receiving a degree + internship experience will be considered
2 years' experience, internship experience included, with federal income tax compliance or related tax reporting preferred Requirements Tax - Corporate, Sales Tax, Corporate Tax Return, Journal Entries, General Ledger
