Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree in social work or professional counseling required. Candidates with experience with children, youth, and families will be preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
- Licensed Master Level Social Worker (LMSW), Limited License Master Level Social Worker (LLMSW) under the supervision of a licensed master’s level social worker, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Master’s Level Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record (6 points of fewer)
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work with and understand the dynamics of schools, community agencies and organizations, and service providers
- Extensive knowledge of community resources
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people. Possess and demonstrate an understanding of various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- Strong relationship, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Able to respond to challenging situations with a positive attitude while remaining responsive, flexible, and adaptive
- Excellent verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations
- Knowledge of basic technology platforms (Google Suite applications and Microsoft applications)
- Ability to be responsible for the safety and well-being of students
