Oakland HOPE Warehouse – Job Description July 2026
Full Time Position Tues thru Sat 8-4pm
As Warehouse Coordinator: Your primary responsibility is when customers enter the store. Welcome greeting, friendly smile and a little conversation goes along way.
Every day there will be an ever-changing list of priorities and task to-do-list that the Warehouse Manager will go over with you each morning around the volunteers for that day. You need to communicate with volunteers what we hope to complete tasks; your responsibility is to work along with your volunteers and ensure completion of projects.
Daily Huddle with volunteers include.
- Unload trucks when they arrive
- Unload drop boxes on Baldwin and Walton
- Help sort/triage at Donation Dock when needed
- Introducing yourself and any other OH Staff in the warehouse
- When exactly breaks are (that’s the time for phones and smoking)
- Explain the list and exactly what we need to accomplish
- Break down tasks into manageable pieces to complete BEFORE lunch.
- Reconvene volunteers and go over the tasks you expect to be completed AFTER lunch.
- Keep everyone busy. There is always busy work that can be completed.
- While working together engage and communicate with volunteers so everyone has an enjoyable experience
There is a new TEAM of volunteers everyday at the Warehouse and the success of each day’s tasks rise and falls on your leadership, communication and TEAM building Attitude.
