Sowle Properties, Inc. is a reputable commercial interior construction and specialty contractor located nearby in Midland, Michigan. We focus on metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceiling systems, and carpentry.
We are seeking several skilled and motivated carpenters to join our team and contribute to our continued success and growth.
Position: Carpenter – Commercial Construction
Pay starts at $15-$25 per hour, based on experience.
We are hiring Carpenters for commercial construction projects. Candidates with at least 3
years of commercial construction experience are preferred, but we are willing to train
motivated candidates who show up consistently, work safely, communicate well, and take
pride in quality craftsmanship.
This is a hands-on role with commercial construction work, opportunities to build skills,
and training available for dependable candidates who are willing to learn. Most projects are
in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Candidates should be prepared to drive to area job sites,
with occasional travel required for projects located throughout Michigan.
Duties:
- Metal Stud Framing & Truss Installation: Experience with layout, assembly, and
installation of metal stud walls, including pre-engineered truss systems.
- Wood Framing: Proficient in rough carpentry tasks such as walls, blocking, backing,
and structural framing.
- Acoustical Ceiling Installation: Skilled in installing grid systems, tiles, and
specialty ceiling components. Must understand leveling and layout of a job site.
- Demolition Work: Capable of performing selective demo while protecting existing
finishes and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
- Door, Hardware & Bathroom Accessory Installation: Able to install commercial
doors, frames, hardware, and restroom accessories to specifications. Must be
detail-oriented and comfortable with precise measurements and alignment.
- Mobile App for Timecards: Ability to use a mobile application for timecard entry.
General & Physical Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.
- Ability to work with power tools and construction materials.
- Comfortable working in a variety of job site conditions, including indoor and outdoor
environments throughout the year.
- Must be able to walk on stilts or be willing to learn how to do so safely.
- Ability to use scaUolding and heavy lift equipment with training.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team while following direction.
