Job Title: Forklift Operator Job Description
We are seeking skilled forklift operators to assist with warehouse operations for an exciting project at our Belleville location. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe handling of shipments and inventory management.
Responsibilities
Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to the correct destination.
Efficiently stage, stack, and load merchandise in the appropriate areas.
Move product from staging and/or unloading areas into the correct load door and assigned trailer.
Ensure trailers are secured and chocked prior to entry, in accordance with safety policies.
Load and unload products correctly using appropriate handling techniques.
Segregate, check, and stage inbound product correctly.
Verify the driver, trailer, and bills are all for the specific carrier and location.
Count freight with the driver and ensure all requirements are followed.
Load trailers for safe transit and ensure the driver signs all required paperwork.
Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and organized desk/office area.
Perform other duties as assigned, such as cleaning, organizing, and sweeping the work area.
Essential Skills
Recent Forklift Certification within the last 2 years.
Ability to utilize a computer or RF Scanners to track inventory.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, with standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
Experience in packing, picking, material handling, lifting, general labor, order picking, shipping and receiving, and warehouse inventory.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with RF scanners.
Ability to work with a pallet jack.
Steel-toed boots/shoes are required.

Work Environment
Work in a 628,000 sq ft, climate-controlled, well-lit, and extremely clean facility. This location employs approximately 250 individuals, including warehouse and office staff. The company provides supply chain solutions to multiple sectors, including automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical, healthcare, consumer retail, and food & beverage. Shifts available are 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday) and 2nd Shift (3:30 PM - Midnight, Monday - Friday).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belleville, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
