This Field Service Engineer role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial heat processing and heat-treating equipment at customer locations both domestically and internationally.
The position serves as the primary technical resource for customers, providing support for equipment startups, electrical and control system diagnostics, repairs, testing, and ongoing maintenance.

5 day trips typical
Home every weekend
Company CC for all travel expenses + Per diem
Majority of travel is planning 7-10 days ahead of time, but could be last minute
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
Commission new equipment and train customers
Document technical issues and corrective actions
Collaborate with engineering and service teams to resolve complex equipment challenges
Travel extensively to support customer installations and service needs
Create service reports, documentation, reach out to customers, and follow up with customers when not traveling
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and plumbing/piping diagrams
Experience using multimeters, amp probes, and other diagnostic tools
Ability to adjust PLCs and VFDs and troubleshoot process control systems (only troubleshooting and editing, no programming)
Customer-facing professionalism
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Field service experience with industrial equipment
Experience with heat-treating, furnace, combustion, or thermal processing equipment
Previous customer-facing technical support or service experience
Experience with ovens or any heating equipment
Quality controls/testing experience
Work Environment
Training will be conducted on-site in Michigan, but you do not need to be located there.
Guaranteed 40 hours of work per week with an average of 50 hours, can get to 60 at times, and paid travel time from home to the job site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
