This position serves in the Child Development and Care (CDC) area as a Departmental Technician 10 Lead Worker. This position works closely with the Departmental Supervisor to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the parent/provider customer service area, billing inquiry, and Licensed Exempt Providers Enrollment issues. The Dept. Tech. 10 would be responsible for assigning, directing and reviewing the work of the Dept. Tech 9 level staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing and assuring the quality of the work by requiring adherence to methods, policy and procedures monitoring the CISCO telephone system to ensure timely and efficient answering of telephone calls. This position serves as a resource expert to the Dept. Techs by providing clarification, answering complex questions and handling the escalation of irate callers. This individual would have responsibility for creating and updating Desk Aids and providing quick tips as CDC Policy is updated and assisting the staff with JIRA navigation. The Dept. Tech 10 would also answer calls, provide information to the public and CDC partners regarding CDC payment, and Licensed Exempt Providers Enrollment questions. The Departmental Technician Lead Worker serves in a supportive role to the Departmental Supervisor 11.

Required Education and Experience
This position generally requires the education acquired through completion of high school and two years of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR Two years of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR Three years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced level in state service. Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand 13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
Bonus Programs:Eligible employees with five years of service also receive annual longevity bonuses that grow as seniority increases. Some positions also may qualify for recruitment, retention, and performance bonuses or other special pay premiums.
Military Pay Differential:Employees in the guard or reserves may also qualify for supplemental pay benefits if miliary pay during qualifying duty is less than normal state pay. Prior military service may also allow seniority credits to accelerate eligibility for longevity bonuses and additional personal leave accrual.
Tax-Advantaged Programs:In addition to 401(k) and 457 retirement accounts, the state also offers flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), and qualified transportation fringe benefit (QTFB) programs that can help you save money by reducing your taxable income.
Student Loan Forgiveness:Working for the State of Michigan may allow you to participate in programs that forgive the balance of qualifying student loans.
