Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description
This role operates production machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment that supports a 24/7 operation. You will run and maintain machines, monitor product quality, and help ensure the facility consistently meets production targets. The position follows a structured 12-hour Panama schedule on either days or nights, offering predictable time off and built-in overtime opportunities.
Responsibilities
Operate production machinery according to detailed work instructions and specifications to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
Load raw materials into machines and monitor material feeding throughout production runs to prevent interruptions or defects.
Monitor machine performance during operation and make appropriate adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency and product quality.
Meet or exceed daily production requirements, maintaining at least 70% efficiency as a baseline performance standard.
Perform routine inspections of finished and in-process parts to confirm they meet established quality standards and tolerances.
Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product dimensions and document results as required.
Conduct general machine maintenance, including checking oil levels, monitoring tool wear, and performing basic cleaning and lubrication.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues independently and promptly escalate more complex mechanical or process problems to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain accurate and timely production and quality records, ensuring all documentation is complete and legible.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including promptly addressing spills and contributing to overall housekeeping standards.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of manufacturing experience in roles such as assembly, machine operation, production, racking, or similar hands-on industrial work.
Proven ability to operate production or manufacturing machinery in a fast-paced environment.
Experience following written work instructions and specifications with strong attention to detail.
Ability to use basic measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, or willingness to learn quickly.
Comfort working 12-hour shifts on a rotating Panama schedule (2-2-3 rotation) on either day shift (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) or night shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
Commitment to safety practices and consistent use of required personal protective equipment.
Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards while standing for long periods and working around industrial machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous machine operation experience with equipment such as press machines, CNC machines, grinders, or similar production machinery is preferred.
Background in general production or industrial environments where cleanliness, organization, and documentation were emphasized.
Comfort working in a non-temperature-controlled facility where conditions can be hot in summer and cold in winter.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple machines over time.
Ability to work effectively as part of a crew on a 24/7 operation, communicating clearly with teammates and supervisors.

Work Environment
The role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility operating 24/7 with four crews covering day and night shifts. The plant follows a 12-hour Panama (2-2-3) rotation, with fixed day shift (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) or night shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM), and employees remain on their assigned shift rather than rotating between days and nights. The environment is not temperature controlled, so it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility is relatively clean for an industrial plant, but floors can be slippery due to oil generated by continuously running machinery, making proper PPE and appropriate footwear essential for safe walking conditions. You will work around active production equipment, oil, and moving parts, and you are expected to maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to all safety and housekeeping standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
