Job Details

Under the general supervision of the Animal Control Director, worker is responsible for the following duties:

• Perform all tasks assigned by the Animal Control Director.
• General cleaning.
• General Maintenance.
• Upkeep of the shelter.
• Responsible for the general care of the animals.
• Clean cages, cat litter pans, bowls, kennels as needed to maintain a sanitary environment for the animals.
• Do routine cleaning, including laundry, dishes, floors, walls etc.
• Do routine yard/shelter maintenance, including mowing, snow removal, raking, painting, etc.
• Greet public and assist them with the animals in the shelter.
• Maybe required to drive the ACO trucks in order to transport animals, or pickup needed items.
• Maybe required to assist the front desk as needed.
• Must be able to lift heavy weights on a daily basis.
• Must be able to lift and bathe animals as needed.
• Must be able to give routine medications and or vaccines to animals in the shelter.
• Will be exposed to odors, and material found in carrying out the duties of the animal shelter staff.
• Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
• Must be able to multi-task if needed. 
• Organizes supplies, laundry, and donations of goods in the shelter.
