Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Heavy Duty Truck & Trailer Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently. This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, suspension, steering, and brake system issues.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, differentials, wheel ends, air brake systems, suspensions, and electrical components.
• Perform trailer repairs, including lighting, ABS systems, suspension, landing gear, doors, floors, and structural components.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet federal and state safety regulations.
• Use diagnostic software and testing equipment to troubleshoot faults.
• Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicate repair recommendations with supervisors and service advisors.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, truck and trailer systems, air brakes, and electrical diagnostics.
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures.
• Experience with diagnostic software and scan tools.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
• State certifications and ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Hydraulic system troubleshooting.
• Air conditioning certification.
• Experience performing DOT inspections.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
