In this newly designed role, you will play a pivotal onsite role in providing a welcoming environment, recruiting and onboarding processes, records and compliance management, and other complex administrative functions while collaborating with multiple customer groups. As the HR Assistant, you will ensure prompt, efficient, and professional responses to employee inquiries. Reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources, you will receive functional direction from multiple individuals, and will support the HR team in providing the highest level of customer service to all School of Kinesiology constituents.

Temporary Staff Management
- Process temporary staff postings, hires, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Track I-9 completion and expirations, student-to-non-student conversions, and appointment purges.
- Ensure compliance with U-M temporary staff policies and manage extension requests.
- Respond to temporary staff questions and coordinate with shared services HR staff.
Dean's Suite Reception and Operations
- Serve as the first point of contact at the Dean's Suite reception desk.
- Welcome and assist visitors, students, faculty, and staff.
- Manage mail, conference room reservations, supplies, kitchen areas, shared spaces, and first aid materials.
- Maintain reception and suite spaces, report facility issues, and coordinate office plant maintenance.
- Support suite culture through tasks such as managing staff birthdays.
Human Resources Administrative Support
- Draft HR letters and communications using templates.
- Support HR transactions in partnership with shared services HR Coordinators.
- Send approved HR communications and assist with meetings, catering, logistics, and materials.
- Update employee work addresses and phone numbers in HR systems.
- Provide additional administrative support during peak periods.
