Job Description

Perform crimp validation testing according to the automotive specifications and standards for Ford, Stellantis, GM and Tesla customers.
Perform the validation product testing on crimped wires, according to the USCAR-21 automotive specifications and standards for Ford, Stellantis, GM & Tesla customers.
Execute a validation timing schedule plan according to the program information and customer requirements planned on weekly meetings with Mexico and Japan facilities.
Lead activities for the crimp technicians, providing support, direction and training to all staff members on current and new processes and procedures.
Analyze and judge all data collected of the validation product obtained by crimp technicians.
Input all tested data and results on Sumitomo Global Database System to manage all ongoing test activities.
Prepare final reports to the customers and the manufacturing plants in Mexico.
Lead and perform continuous improvement activities (kaizen leader).
Assist and support the Testing and Validation Management Group with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
Support with the calibration devices (In-House and Out-Source), to ensure the accuracy, integrity and quality of our test equipment.
Programming, troubleshooting and operation of the validation equipment (Thermal Shock and Humidity Chambers, Voltage Drop Testers, Microscopes, Pull Testers, Grinders and Polishers, Cutters).
Quotation and purchase of equipment and laboratory consumables.
Prepare detailed work procedures for testing equipment.
Annual salary from $95,534.

Additional Requirements

US bachelor’s degree or a foreign equivalent in engineering (mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, industrial) or a related field.

3 years’ experience in supervising technicians; crimp testing failure analysis for wire harnesses using CATIS or similar software; and in performing data analysis and product validation per automotive test specifications.
