Responsibilities
- SUPERVISOR: Director of Housing Quality & Energy Conservation
- SUPERVISES: Department staff in the absence of department Director and Manager
- Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of the Weatherization Assistance Program as well as all other Housing Quality & Energy Conservation Programs the director deems appropriate
- Assist in identifying client needs, assuring that clients obtain eligible services within program guidelines or provide referrals
- Prepare and send out needs letters as they relate to services requested
- Perform Energy Education Activities
- Follow agency policies and procedures and specific program guidelines provided by the funding source
- Enter data into EmpowOR, Job Number-Priorities spread sheet or other programs as required by funder(s)
- Assist with the completion, eligibility, approval and processing of Weatherization applications and other department programs (i.e.: MEAP, Water Affordability, CDBG PI, FIX, HEP)
- Ensure Weatherization jobs flow smoothly through the entire process as they pass between inspectors, general contractors, mechanical contractors, and the program director
- Assist with client, contractor, and inspector concerns
- Ensure program compliance with internal auditing of department programs, including auditing program files, budgets and data entry as required
- Assist in preparing for file monitoring
- Maintain Service Plan Spreadsheet, ensuring contractor and inspector compliance with all trainings, licenses, insurance and certifications
- Complete general clerical duties
- Attend conferences, trainings and meetings as required
- Organize and actively participate in agency fundraisers
- Attend outreach events in order to promote Weatherization, rehabilitation, Housing Education
- Program as well as any additional department programs in order to locate new clients and contractors
- Comply with Federal Privacy Act Regulation
- Other duties as assigned by the Director
- Perform quarterly contractor evaluations for Weatherization and rehabilitation
- Must attend job specific trainings as required
- Must participate in continuing education to keep technical requirements of Weatherization up to date
- Must be familiar with the Michigan Field Guide and Standard Work Specifications and how they relate to the implementation of Weatherization measures
- Must attend and complete Michigan Community Action Leadership Institute and/or Emerging Leaders
