The company is currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Safety Coordinator is responsible for the management of the overall safety and health of field employees at project sites, including the following:
Works with the project management team to evaluate and drive the work from a safety-focused approach;
Regularly monitors employees for safe work practices, advising and correcting work methods when needed
Assists in the preparation of Construction project safety plan
Conducts daily safety briefings, project safety audits and inspections, including required reports and record-keeping;
Conducts, or coordinates as needed, all project Safety training onsite, including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lead training and lockout / tag-out.
Tracks all training records, and maintains updated list of certifications held by personnel onsite to ensure proper training is received in advance;
Conducts Industrial Hygiene assessments of work processes and employees
Leads accident/incident investigations in a timely manner and oversees report development
Qualifications
Qualifications/Education:
3+ years of construction experience, bridge or marine work preferred.
Four year Degree in Safety, Safety Management or Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or experience equivalent
Knowledge of FRA, DOT and OSHA regulations
OSHA instructor, CPR / First-Aid trained, preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to thrive in a changing environment
Self-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision
Ability to work on active construction site outdoors in a variety of climates
Travel is required
Salary commensurate with experience
