Learning Rainbow Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, creative, and dependable Preschool Teacher to lead our 3 year old classroom! We are a privately-owned, family-oriented preschool located on 5 beautiful acres in Commerce Township, MI. Our preschool program is a warm, nurturing early childhood program that meets the needs of all children & encourages their academic and social development. Teachers are encouraged to bring their creativity to the classroom as well! Come join our team!
General Hours of Work: Between 8:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have one of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with experience
- At least 90 clock hours of coursework in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, combined with experience
- Minimum 1 year childcare/preschool experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge and/or experience working with the High Scope philosophy and Zoo Phonics.
- Experience with Montessori preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Ability to develop and implement classroom curriculum that encourages the children’s academic, social, emotional, and physical development
- Ability to communicate effectively with young children and their families, & co-workers
- Good understanding of child development, age-appropriate behaviors, common childhood behavior problems and appropriate interventions
- Ability to work as a positive and productive member of a team
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- Ability to represent Learning Rainbow Preschool in a professional manner
