Position: CNC Machine Operator
Reports To: Production Technician
Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour

Job Overview: As a CNC Machine Operator, you’ll play a key role in transforming raw stone into finished, high-quality products. You’ll operate CNC machines and saws to cut, shape, and finish granite and quartz with accuracy and care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, values precision, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Represent Premier’s values by maintaining a professional, respectful, and team-oriented presence in the shop.
- Set up CNC machines and saws according to job specifications, including loading materials, selecting tools, and programming machine settings
- Operate CNC equipment to cut, shape, and finish stone materials with precision and efficiency
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
- Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards for measurements, finish, and edge profiles
- Identify and address defects or issues in the production process
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by offering ideas, identifying inefficiencies, and helping refine processes.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to keep machines running smoothly
- Follow all safety protocols and conduct safety checks before and after machine use
- Safely handle and move granite and quartz slabs, ensuring proper positioning for cutting
- Maintain organized inventory and a clean, efficient workspace to ensure a safe and well-maintained shop environment
- Replace and maintain cutting tools, saw blades, and other machine components
- Accurately document records of machine settings, production data, and quality checks to support consistency and continuous improvement
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly
- Communicate proactively with the fabrication team about job status, material needs, or potential issues.
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support production schedules and team workflow.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the team and overall production flow
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision
- Previous experience in the granite/stone industry preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
- Effective communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous CNC or saw operation experience
- Knowledge of stone materials, cutting techniques, and tooling
- Proficiency in operating CNC machinery, including programming and basic troubleshooting
