The director is responsible for the overall management of the Manna Pantry. In this role, he or she advises the Board, keeping them informed of overall status of the Pantry and assisting in the development of potential strategies. He or she supervises employees and/or volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations and has the authority to delegate responsibilities. The director is the public face of the organization, representing it to clients, donors and the community. The director formulates policies, procedures, and
planning recommendations to the Board for their approval. Financial oversight is provided by the director, as well as helping with Board development tasks and initiatives such as recruiting new Board members and assisting in orienting them to the mission and procedures of the organization.
Management:
· Oversee the daily operations of the Manna Pantry ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
· Oversees the sanitation standards and guidelines for the Pantry
· Advise the Board regarding challenges and issues facing the Pantry and its volunteers
· Draft operational policies for Board review and approval
· Supervise special projects
· Maintain inventory
· Maintain file of donated food; send copy to Account Specialist at beginning of each month.
· Collect and analyze required data for internal and external reporting
· Provide monthly and annual reports of activities to the Board and major supporters
· Collaborate with Board Chair to develop agenda and supporting materials for Board of Directors meetings
· Staff Board and Board Committees as requested by the Board Chair
· Maintain required licenses
· Ensure compliance with State and Federal reporting requirements
· Other duties as assigned
Financial Oversight:
· Work with the Board Treasurer to ensure that bank deposits and bills are processed accurately
· Write grants seeking funding for operations and special projects
· Assist in maintaining financial records
· Support the preparation of the annual budget
Community and Donor Relations:
· Represent the Pantry in the community
· Provide leadership to the development committee and its activities
· Communicate with donors and future donors including social media
