Position Summary
A senior leadership role overseeing 10–15 simultaneous home builds from site layout through completion, directing Construction staff (5–8 people), including Supervisors and Crew Members, as well as subcontractors and vendors. Accountable for project budgets, funding-program compliance, home repair program, and warranty work. Partners with the Director of Construction Strategy & Planning, who handles strategic/organizational planning, while this role focuses on operational leadership and delivery. Full-time, with occasional evening/weekend hours required.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee 10–15 active builds; develop master budgets and schedules with Strategy & Planning; coordinate bidding, subcontractors, site layout, and inspections; conduct site visits; hold staff accountable for budget/quality/timeline performance.
- Grant & Funding Compliance: Track grant timelines, prevailing wage, and procurement standards; ensure accurate contractor payment and labor compliance records; partner with finance on reporting.
- Contractor Management: Approve scopes of work, run bidding processes, select and manage contractors, approve payments/change orders, ensure quality and schedule adherence.
- Home Repair Program: Lead all repair program operations — staffing, quoting, scheduling, budgets, quality, and community partnerships.
- Warranty Work: Oversee homeowner warranty requests, contractor coordination, scheduling, and documentation.
- Safety, Quality & Compliance: Develop site safety programs and quality standards; ensure code/regulatory compliance; stay current on industry practices.
- Facilities Management: Maintain and improve Habitat-owned facilities with the Director of Construction Strategy.
- Materials & Logistics: Manage procurement, delivery schedules, vendor relationships, and material costs.
- Volunteer Program Oversight: Direct volunteer engagement, safety, training, and supervision on job sites.
- Special Projects: Support the Executive Director on organizational initiatives as needed.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience (multiple simultaneous residential projects)
- Minimum 2 years supervising construction staff/field crews
- High school diploma required; degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience with Builder Trend or similar PM software preferred; grant compliance/prevailing wage experience a plus
- Strong budget management and contractor accountability experience
- Modular home construction experience a plus (not required)
Other Requirements
Regular local and occasional regional/out-of-state travel; valid driver's license; flexible hours including evenings/weekends; proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office tech; passes criminal background and sex offender checks.
Physical Demands: Mix of office and extensive fieldwork; walking sites, climbing stairs/ladders, handling materials up to 50 lbs; outdoor work in varying weather conditions; extended standing/walking during site visits.
Reports To: Executive Director. Direct oversight of Construction Supervisors, Crew Members, and home-repair staff; close partnership with the Director of Construction Strategy.
