ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

1. Pick up mail from the U.S. Postal Office.
2. Process and handle all incoming and outgoing mail, including overnight packages, ensuring proper routing and within established time limits. Must maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information.
3. Process incoming checks for Accounts Payable Department.
4. Sort out unsolicited mail and make appropriate contacts to discontinue mailings.
5. Maintain appearance of mailroom.
6. Deliver incoming mail to each department, person, or pre-established drop area. 

MARGINAL JOB DUTIES

1. Fills in and/or backs up other mailroom staff or other staff as needed and qualified.
2. May assist with errands as assigned.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
2. Licensure: N/A
3. Experience: Six months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Skills: Able to operate a postage meter.  Typing, filing, computer, telephone etiquette and answering skills.   Detail oriented. Critical thinking skills essential. Strong organizational skills. 
5. Interpersonal Skills: Able to communicate effectively with, and relate to, a diverse population in a professional and courteous manner.  Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Willingness to interact in a team environment.
6. Physical Effort: Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and or twist while holding up to 50 lbs. often.
7. Hours of Work: Full-Time
8. Travel: Generally not a requirement of this job. If necessary, mileage and travel reimbursement according to GLBHC travel policy.
