Job Title: Maintenance / Grounds Keeper
Location: Midland, Michigan
Position Summary
Maple Grove MFD Home Community is seeking a dependable, motivated, and self-directed Maintenance / Grounds Keeper to help maintain the appearance, safety, and overall operation of our mobile home community in Midland, Michigan. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and can perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.
The successful candidate will work independently and with others to ensure the community remains safe, attractive, and well-maintained for residents and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, and weed control.
- Pick up litter and maintain the cleanliness of common areas throughout the community.
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including leaf removal and snow removal as needed.
- Complete general maintenance and minor repairs on community-owned buildings, equipment, and facilities.
- Inspect the property regularly and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Maintain roads, signs, fencing, and other community features.
- Prepare vacant home sites for incoming homes or residents.
- Operate lawn care equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain maintenance equipment and report repair needs.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operation of the community.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, landscaping, property maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to safely operate lawn equipment, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work in a variety of weather conditions.

Work Environment
