Job Description:
Branch Specialist
Location: Shelby Township, Michigan (Onsite)
Role Overview
This position supports day-to-day branch operations with a strong focus on teller-line functions and member service. The role requires the accurate and efficient handling of financial transactions in a high-volume, schedule-driven environment. The specialist will provide information regarding financial products and services, identify member needs, and ensure a positive member experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to in-person member inquiries and requests.
- Perform teller-line transactions for various account types, including savings, checking, and consumer loans.
* Protect member accounts by verifying identity and reviewing for alerts or irregularities.
- Act on and respond to situations indicating potential fraud or abuse.
- Demonstrate proficiency in multiple systems to ensure accuracy and member satisfaction.
- Identify and recommend additional products and services to meet member needs.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with cash-handling in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers and the ability to navigate multiple screens.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a customer-facing environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to resolve customer issues professionally and tactfully.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate calculations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer service, preferably in a banking or financial institution.
Work Schedule
To support consistent staffing and operational coverage, employees are expected to have availability during specific hours. For standard branches operating Monday through Saturday, availability is required Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
