Job Title: Teradata Data Warehouse Platform Architect Overview / Summary
The Department of Technology Management & Budget (DTMB), Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), is seeking a Data Warehouse Architect to serve as the platform administrator for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment built on the Teradata ecosystem.
The EDW consists of three platforms (Production, Development/Disaster Recovery, and Test) and provides enterprise data warehousing services supporting executive branch departments and the State Court Administrator Offices statewide. The environment supports seven departments, over 10,000 users, and approximately 40 terabytes of data.
This role is responsible for technical planning, implementation, administration, performance, security, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, release management, and long-term platform strategy for the EDW environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platform across Production, Development/Disaster Recovery, and Test environments.
Define technical planning, implementation plans, and delivery of EDW platform services and supporting technologies.
Research and coordinate long-term EDW strategies with users, DTMB management, and vendor personnel.
Coordinate vendor communications, trouble reporting, escalated troubleshooting, and release/patch management.
Provide operating system guidance and EDW security expertise.
Advise agencies on disaster recovery planning strategies related to the EDW and business applications.
Monitor platform performance and resolve performance issues.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to department DBAs and specialists across the enterprise.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience with:
Teradata database
Teradata upgrades, provisioning, software maintenance
Scripting using BASH, Perl, Python, and Glink
Teradata ecosystem health monitoring
Teradata node management
Teradata Viewpoint administration
Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU)
PSIM (Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring) administration
Teradata vendor upgrades
Teradata workload management
Teradata backup and recovery
Performance tuning and resource optimization
Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)
Unix/Linux
Cloud computing fundamentals, resource allocation, networking (preferably Microsoft Azure)
Statistics
Audits and security plans
Federal requirements including NIST 800-53, IRS Publication 1075, SSA, Medicaid, and related standards
