Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to help build and mature the cloud platform supporting their client's digital transformation initiatives. This individual will help establish AWS cloud foundations, automation frameworks, governance standards, and platform capabilities that will support future enterprise applications and modernization efforts. The ideal candidate has experience building cloud platforms from the ground up and can contribute to cloud architecture, platform strategy, and engineering best practices while partnering closely with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Build AWS cloud environments supporting AAA Life's digital transformation initiatives
Design and implement Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code solutions
Build cloud platform capabilities and reusable infrastructure patterns
Partner with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams
Participate in Jira planning and roadmap discussions
Drive architecture discussions and technical recommendations
Develop cloud cost models and support FinOps initiatives
Establish cloud engineering standards and best practices
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements
Must Have Qualifications
5+ years of Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Architecture experience
Strong Terraform experience building AWS environments from the ground up
Deep AWS infrastructure and cloud architecture experience
Strong Python scripting and automation experience
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code standards and cloud governance
Experience with FinOps, cloud cost modeling, and cloud optimization initiatives
Strong networking knowledge including private connectivity and hybrid cloud architectures
Experience partnering with Product Managers and Engineering teams as well as business stakeholders/executives Highly Preferred Qualifications
Experience building enterprise cloud platforms from scratch
Experience establishing cloud foundations, shared services, and reusable platform capabilities
Experience driving cloud modernization or digital transformation initiatives
Datadog experience
ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes experience
Azure experience
Jira experience
AWS Certifications preferred
