We're looking for a Material Area Supervisor to lead hourly work teams responsible for unloading, storing, and delivering material that keeps our stamping plant running. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment and wants to grow their career in automotive operations. You'll supervise UAW employees supporting press, assembly, and dock operations, with a sharp focus on material flow, highload drivers, and rack movement to and from the press lines. ??? What's the Job?
Lead the safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale of hourly work teams
Develop Team Leaders to meet corporate guidelines and improve material delivery processes using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles
Coordinate daily team activities to hit key business metrics
Manage multiple work teams in a high-volume, fast-paced unionized manufacturing setting
Ensure inventory accuracy and record integrity
Maintain strong working relationships with both management and union-represented employees
Oversee and develop high-functioning teams of Team Leaders and Team Members
Focus on material flow, highload drivers, and rack movement to/from press lines
? What's Needed?
0-3 years of experience preferred (more experience welcome)
Automotive experience strongly preferred
Stamping plant experience is a plus
Experience with material handling, raw materials, pallets, lifts, or large PIV equipment preferred
Ability to work any shift in a 3-shift operation (shift assignment based on experience and plant needs; may rotate)
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Bachelor's degree not required
Strong leadership and communication skills in a team-based environment
